FIFA U-17 World Cup was earlier known as FIFA U-16 World Championship and started in 1985
First Host Nation was China, It was held in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Dalian. Nigeria was 1985 FIFA U-16 World Championship Winners.
Nigeria is the most successful team being winner for 5 times (1985, 1993, 2007, 2013, 2015) and Brazil for 3 times (1997, 1999, 2003)
Nigeria also won "Fair play Award" for maximum 4 times (1993, 2001, 2009, 2013) and second place shared by Argentina (1991, 1997) and Costa Rica (2003, 2007) by wining 2 times
Nigeria played in 8 Finals
Saudi Arabia is the only Asian country to win U-17 World Cup
