LAW CET syllabus: What is new in LAWCET 2025?

LAWCET 2025 is scheduled for April for 5 Year LLB and May 2025 for LLB 3 Year CET. On 28 Jan 2025 Maharashtra CET CELL announced a change in Marking scheme for both LLB 3 Yrs and LLB 5 Yrs CET 2025. The good news is that the 150 marks LAWCET has now been reduced to 120 Marks. However please note that the duration of exam is not changed. It is same as earlier exams at 120 minutes. Also note that there is no change in the LAW CET Syllabus for LLB 3 Years CET and LLB 5 Years CET.

  • The Questions will be Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with Four Options.
  • There is No Negative Marking.
  • The time allotted is 2 Hours i.e. 120 Minutes
  • The Questions will be in English and Marathi.

There is no change in LAW CET syllabus and it is given as below in simplified format.

Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning:

  • Law Basics – Understand fundamental legal concepts.
  • Legal Aptitude – Develop reasoning skills for legal scenarios.
  • Problem-Solving – Apply laws to solve legal issues.
  • Facts & Propositions – Analyze legal statements and situations.

General Knowledge with current affairs:

  • History – Covers ancient, medieval, and modern events.
  • Geography – Learn about land, climate, and places.
  • Science – Basic concepts from physics, chemistry, and biology.
  • Economics – Money, markets, and economy-related topics.
  • Civics – Government, laws, and citizenship.
  • Current Affairs – Key events from the past year.
Logical and Analytical Reasoning:
  • Pattern & Logic – Spot patterns, find logical connections, and fix flawed arguments.
  • Analogies & Arguments – Understand broad analogies, complete arguments, and draw strong conclusions.
  • Rules & Principles – Apply rules, reason by analogy, and assess structures and relationships.
  • Deductive Thinking – Use statements, rules, and principles to draw logical conclusions.
  • Relationships – Describe connections between people, things, or events.
English
  • Vocabulary – Synonyms, antonyms, and word relationships (analogies).
  • Proficiency – Idioms, phrases, one-word substitutions, sentence corrections, and fill-in-the-blanks.
  • Usage Errors – Spot and fix common mistakes in grammar, word choice, and spelling.
  • Comprehension – Strengthen reading and reasoning skills.
