What is CTET?

CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is a national-level eligibility exam conducted by CBSE, usually twice a year (January and July). It certifies that a candidate is eligible to teach classes 1 to 8.

  • Central Government Schools – KVS, NVS, Army Schools
  • State Government Schools that accept CTET

Educational Qualification

Eligibility – Paper 1 (Class 1–5)

Candidates must meet any of the following criteria:

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and 2-year D.El.Ed / D.Ed / B.El.Ed
  • Graduation with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

Eligibility – Paper 2 (Class 6–8)

Candidates must meet any of the following criteria:

  • Graduation with 2-year D.El.Ed
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed
  • Post Graduation with B.Ed (as per NCTE norms)

Note: Candidates with B.Ed can apply for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 as per latest guidelines.
