NTA - NET (National Eligibility Test)

On behalf of UGC, the National Testing Agency (NTA) established by Ministry of Human Resource Development, announces holding of the National Eligibility Test(NET) from Dec 09th Dec, 2018 to 23rd Dec, 2018 for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor Both in Indian universities and colleges. CBSE will conduct NET Exam in 84 subjects and list of subjects available at http://cbsenet.nic.in/

It is notified that NTA (National Testing Agency) will conduct the next UGC-NET for Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor from Dec 09th Dec, 2018 to 23rd Dec, 2018. As per the revised scheme, the test will consist of two papers as below:.

1 Submission of online application form 01 Sep 2018
2 Last date for Applying Online 30 Sep 2018
3 Last date of submission of Fee through online generated Bank challan , at any branch of (Syndicate/ Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank) or through credit/debit card 01 Oct 2018
4 Correction in Particulars of application form on the website 8 Oct 2018 to 14 Oct 2018
5 Uploading of Admit Card Nov 19, 2018
6 Date of Examination Dec 9, 2018 to Dec 23, 2018

Educational Qualifications:

  1. Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC
  2. The Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST)/ persons with disability(PwD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test
  3. Candidates who are pursuing their Master's degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test

NTA - NET Dec - 2018 EXAM PATTERN

  • Mode of Exam: Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only
  • Exam Format: Objective
  • Number of Sections: Two
Session Paper Marks Number of Question Duration
First I 100 50 questions all are compulsory 1 Hour
Second II 200 100 questions all are compulsory 2 Hour

  1. Teaching Aptitude
  2. Research Aptitude
  3. Comprehension
  4. Communication
  5. Mathematical Reasoning
  6. Logical Reasoning
  7. Data Interpretation
  8. Information & Communication Technology
  9. People & environment
  10. Higher Education System-governance administrator

Paper 2:

All questions of Paper –II will be compulsory, covering entire syllabus (including all electives, without options). Syllabi for all NET subjects can be downloaded from the UGC website and are also available in the libraries of all Indian Universities.
