SBI Clerk Exam

State Bank of India, with a glorious history of more than 200 years, stands as the proxy for the Indian Economy. The Bank's strength over the decades, has stemmed from its strong employee centric approach, and its ability to attract and retain the best banking talent in the country.

State Bank of India will release the notification for the recruitment of clerk post in 2017.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

The selection process will consist of on-line test (preliminary & main examinations), test of official and/or local language and subject to Government of India approval, interview.

Phase 1 Preliminary Examination : 100 Marks

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing passing marks to be decided by the Bank. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 20 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability) will be short listed for the Main Examination.

Phase II Main Examination : 200 Marks

The structure of main examination (online objective type) would be as follows :

Interview : (subject to Govt. of India approval)

Test of knowledge of official and/or local language: Those who produce 10th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied official (local) language will not be subjected to any Language test. In case of others, language test will be conducted at the time of interview (if interview is held) /before final selection (if interview is not held). Candidates not found to be proficient in official and/or local language would be disqualified.

  1. The above main online tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
  2. Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests of the online examinations
  3. A candidate has to qualify in Preliminary Examination for appearing in Main Examination.
  4. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests (Preliminary and Main examination).1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  5. Only such number of candidates will be called for interview who stand sufficiently high in merit on the aggregate marks of the Objective Tests, such merit being decided by the Bank in relation to the number of vacancies to be filled in.
  6. Final selection will be on the basis of candidate's performance in the online main examination and interview taken together in order of merit.
