Maharashtra B.Ed. CET
Maharashtra B.Ed. CET is must for Teaching Aspirants wishing to pursue B.Ed. Courses in Maharashtra.
Government of Maharashtra has established a State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET CELL) under Admission Regulatory Authority (ARA) as per the provision in Section 10 of Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015, (Herein after called the Act). According to G.R. No. CET-2015/C.No.379/MSHI-2, Dated 4 th December, 2015 and G.R. No. CET-2016/F.No.84/MSHI-2, Dated 7th April, 2016 the Competent Authority shall conduct the MAH-B.Ed. Course CET 2018 for the admission to the First Year of the Two Year Full Time Professional Degree Course in Education leading to B.Ed.(Regular /Special) Degree, for the Academic Year 2018-2019.
Name of the exam: B.Ed. CET (Bachelor of Education - Common Entrance Test)
Educational qualification: A Bachelors degree from a recognized university or a degree from a correspondence institute
Exam pattern: MCQ – Multiple choice objective questions

- Teaching Aptitude - 30 questions for 30 marks
Part-II - English Language Content Test 50 marks for English Medium Colleges
- Reading comprehension – Picture, Poetry, Prose & Dialogue
- Vocabulary Focus Spelling, Antonyms, Synonyms, Homonyms
- Grammar Focus a) Punctuation b) Article C) Prepositions d) Conjunctions e) Degree of Adjectives
- Sentence Formation: Conversions: Affirmative Negative, Interrogative - Assertive - Exclamatory b) Jumbled sentences c) Identifying errors in sentences
- Phonetics - i) Phonetic Transcription ii) Accent iii) Intonation Pattern
- Verbal Idioms and Proverbs
- Figures of Speech
Part I is compulsory for All Candidates and Part II is for candidates looking for admission in English medium colleges.
Educational Qualifications:
- The Candidate Should be an Indian National and should have passed Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree with subjects studied as Special/Optional level- Sciences and Mathematics /Social Sciences= (History /Geography / Economics / Political Sciences / Psychology / Philosophy / Education / Library) / Humanity Sciences= (All Languages and Literature) / Commerce and secured Minimum 50% *marks (Minimum 45%* marks in case of Backward Class categories belonging to the State of Maharashtra )
- The Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree with subjects in Engineering and Technology / (with Science and Mathematics as a special subjects) / Bachelor’s Degree with the subjects: Management / Engineering / Computers / Law / Information -Technology / Agriculture / BBI / Medical Sciences / All Social Sciences / Fine Art / Performing Art (Music / Dance / Drama etc.) and secured minimum 55% *marks (Minimum 50% *marks in case of Backward Class categories belonging to the State of Maharashtra).
- The Candidate should have passed Bachelor’s Degree recognized as an equivalent degree by the Government of Maharashtra, to the Bachelor’s Degree and / or Master’s Degree in subjects mentioned in (i) and (ii) above.
- The candidate should have passed any Bachelor’s Degree given by Open University Incorporated by an act of the Central or State Legislature.
- The candidate should be appeared for the final year examination of any Bachelor’s Degree awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature or declared to be Deemed University under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. (Candidates are advised to refer to Subject Specialization Table given in the Information Brochure)
- Educational Qualification for Outside Maharashtra State Candidates (All India Candidature and J&K Migrant Candidates:-The Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed any Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate degree awarded by any of the Universities in corporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature or declared to be Deemed University under section 3 of the UGC Act,1956 of Minimum 3 years duration of Any Discipline recognized by the Association of the Indian Universities, or possess an equivalent Qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India/NCTE with Minimum 55% Marks for all Categories.
