@Usha, As per UGC it can be conducted after gap of minimum six month. And generally it is conducted once in a year. In 2017 SET exam is scheduled on 16th Apr. Next UGC-SET / NET probably will be held in 2018 and notification will be available after Oct 2017 for same. Start preparing for NET / SET 2018 now.

Dear Sidhaji,
If you have completed M.SC Chemistry then you can go for SET with Chemistry as a subject, for that you must fulfil the criteria of minimum marks 55% (for General) and 50 % for reserved category in graduation.
And if you still appearing for M.SC. then your SET result will be on held until you submit your Passing certificate with minimum marks criteria.
